16 December 2020: The Committee agreed to close the petition under Rule 15.7 of Standing Orders on the basis that British Sign Language is currently being taught as part of the Curriculum for Excellence and the Scottish Government is unable to intervene regarding which languages to teach as part of the 1+2 approach as these decisions are for schools and local authorities.
