Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to change the eligibility criteria of the priority countries for Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships programme to benefit students of all nationalities.

4 September 2012: The Committee agreed to close the petition under Rule 15.7 on the grounds that the Scottish Government has explained that four priority countries contribute to the Scottish Government’s International Framework and Economic Strategy; there are no current plans to broaden the nationality criteria but it will be kept under review; and the Scottish Government funds a number of other scholarships which provide study opportunities for international students.
