Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to implement a condition of the Council of Europe Diploma to Fair Isle by designating Fair Isle waters as a Marine Protected Area.

12 June 2012: The Committee took evidence from Nick Riddiford and Stewart Thomson, Fair Isle Community and Alexander Bennett, Group Manager - Countryside North, National Trust for Scotland. The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government, Scottish Natural Heritage, the Shetland Fishermen's Association, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, VisitScotland, Shetland Islands Council, the University of the Highlands and Islands and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.
