Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to amend the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman Act (2002) to ensure that complainants are shown all correspondence between SPSO and the bodies complained about before the investigation is concluded (including emails) and that they are also made aware of the content of any verbal communications.

25 November 2014: The Committee took evidence from Peter Stewart-Blacker, Chairman, Accountability Scotland. The Committee agreed to refer the petition, under Rule 15.6.2, to the Local Government and Regeneration Committee in the context of its scrutiny of the SPSO's annual report and its forthcoming session with the SPSO. In doing so, the Committee also agreed to write to the Scottish Government. Link to Official Report 25 November 2014

14 January 2015: The Local Government and Regeneration Committee considered the evidence it received from the Scottish Public Service Ombudsman following its oral evidence session on 7 January 2015.
