Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to introduce legislation which recognises desecration or vandalism of war memorials as a specific criminal offence.
9 December 2020: The Committee agreed to close the petition under Rule 15.7 of
Standing Orders on the basis that there is legislation currently in place to
deal with the vandalism and desecration of statutes and memorials, including
war memorials, and the Scottish Government has no current plans to introduce
