Do you have concerns about the provision of services for older people in community and cottage hospitals and council care homes in Scotland?

Have you had any problems as a result of closures of either community hospitals or council care homes in your area?

What are your views on the effectiveness of the Integrated Social Care package?

More care for the elderly in their own home is important to keep them there in the first place rather that them ending up in hospital - not just bed blocking but being vulnerable to hospital acquired infections putting their health at further risk .

Someone close to me is still managing in her own home, but she's one of the lucky ones. There needs to be as much support as possible for the elderly at community and local level.

Apart from anything else. cottage hospitals ease the pressure of bed blocking in acute hospitals
