That the Parliament congratulates the health and wellbeing committee of the Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) on passing a policy geared toward raising greater awareness among medical professionals of eating disorders and their symptoms, effects and treatments, including aftercare; notes that the SYP has stated that “there should also be attempts to raise awareness amongst teachers, parents and the public as a whole in order to tackle misconceptions and promote a better understanding of the diseases"; welcomes what it considers to be this step forward, and supports the SYP in continuing what is considered its progress toward promoting a greater awareness of eating disorders.
