 Picture of European ParliamentThe remit of the committee is to consider and report on-

(a) proposals for European Communities legislation;
(b) the implementation of European Communities legislation;
(c) any European Communities or European Union issue;
(d) the development and implementation of the Scottish Administration's links with countries and territories outside Scotland, the European Communities (and their institutions) and other international organisations; and
(e) co-ordination of the international activities of the Scottish Administration.

Brussels Bulletin

The Brussels Bulletin is a fortnightly publication produced by the Scottish Parliament's Officer in Brussels. It provides intelligence on those key EU policy themes which are likely to dominate the European policy agenda as it relates to devolved matters in Scotland over the next year.

The Committee will meet at 10.30 am in Committee Room 6.

1. Declaration of interests: Frank McAveety and Bill Wilson will be invited to declare any relevant interests.

2. Choice of Deputy Convener: The Committee will choose a Deputy Convener.

3. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee will decide whether to take items 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 in private.

4. Brussels Bulletin: The Committee will consider the Brussels Bulletin.

5. International Engagement inquiry: The Committee will consider written evidence received to the inquiry.

6. International Engagement inquiry: The Committee will consider the arrangements for its visit to Brussels.

7. Scottish Parliament European strategy: The Committee will consider its approach to undertaking follow-up work arising from its Treaty of Lisbon report.

8. Work programme: The Committee will consider its work programme.

9. Allocation of MEP seats: The Committee will consider the allocation of MEP seats in the UK.
