Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to review the current rights of appeal within planning and other consenting processes which give deemed planning consent, considering the benefits of widening the scope of appeal, and providing an equal right of appeal.

27 January 2015: The Committee agreed to refer the petition, under Rule 15.6.2, to the Local Government and Regeneration Committee to consider under its remit. Link to Official Report 27 January 2015
1 April 2015: The Local Government and Regeneration Committee considered its approach to petition PE1534 by Clare Symonds on behalf of Planning Democracy, on equal rights of appeal in the planning system.
The Committee agreed to write to the Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Communities and Pensioners' Rights to ask for the Scottish Government's views on the current rights of appeal within planning and other consenting processes, and whether it has any plans to review these processes. The Committee agreed to decide what further action, if any, it would take on the petition following receipt of a reply from the Scottish Government. Link to Official Report 1 April 2015
