I have contacted a variety of companies, e.g. sports centres, shopping centres, cinemas/entertainment venues and supermarkets. They have all confirmed to me that their disabled parking bays are on private land and they have no control or authority to issue parking tickets/fines in the same way that traffic wardens (or whoever takes this over) do on public land.
I then contacted some private land owners of the above locations and they confirmed they would have no objection to traffic wardens (or whoever takes this over) controlling disabled parking bays on their private land and issuing tickets/fines.
Prior to contacting the above I met with my local MSP, Gordon Macdonald, twice who suggested submitting this petition.
