PE01579: Funding for the New Barrhead High School

Let the Scottish Government demonstrate it desire to be different as a country , and where better than our local communities and with our youth . So come on it is too long overdue let Barrhead get a new high school fit for the 21st Century

The Scottish Government need held to account. They just pay lip service to the importance of education to our children. Is it any wonder education standards are falling under this government when the facilities are so poor. Nicola Sturgeon talks about how education is such a priority, well it is time to deliver for the kids of Barrhead high.

The school has been classed as unfit for purpose a new school MUST be built to secure a good education with the proper facilities for our children to flourish in the future. The government have to release the funding and quickly.

For almost a decade Labour Councillors have used the promise of a new Barrhead High to obtain my vote. Other schools in the East Renfrewshire catchment have been replaced and still our children are attending a school which is a crumbling wreak. Enough excuses, enough false promises! Barrhead children deserve better.

Education is the key to a child's future. Each child should be able to access the same standards and quality of education as their peers. This is clearly not the case for the children of Barrhead High where their environment and facilities are not fit for purpose. Come on SNP put your money where your mouth is especially when it has just been announced that you have underspent your budget last year by £347M.
