Do the residents of Argyll and Bute want a permanent solution to the landslides that close our lifeline route into and out of Argyll

A total waste of 8 million. Our Spanish friends just laughed at the futile attempts we are making to try and stop the landslides and said they should come to Spain to see how to resolve the problem.

It has to be a tunnel. If you travel anywhere in Europe this is the norm. You will then in the winter have no need to grit or snow plough the road saving thousands of pounds on the roads budget

build a tunnel or impact roof allowing debris to fall down the mountain. the problem will to continue to get worse and will cost another x millions of pounds

It has to be clear to anyone who has viewed the scale of the fence barriers against the size of the hill, that they were never going to work. We are overdue for a proper solution to this, possibly a tunnel.

What happened to the feasibility study that was to be done? The Scottish Government is allowing a road to be used that is unsafe. It is amazing that no one has been killed. Is that what it will take? A bus full of tourists killed by thousands of tons of falling rock. Will it be like the notorious A74 that there had to be a certain number of fatalities before something is done?

I am disabled, having non- Hodgkins Lymphoma and Peripheral Neuropathy, and have to make numerous trips each year to hospitals in Glasgow and the Vale of Leven from my home in Tarbert, Kintyre. My condition means I am very sensitive to vibration. Every closure means at least an additional 50 miles each way. The level of pain I have to deal with is extreme at the best of times. A permanent solution is greatly needed.

Building "shed" protection (as used in Austria, Switzerland etc.) in the areas threatened by landslips should be tried. It may be less expensive than many of the other schemes which have been tried or suggested.

If this was the main access route to the Scottish Parliament it would have been resolved by now. Spend some money in rural areas rather than always on your back door ministers!!! I had to endure over a 3 hour detour home last night due to the A83 & A82 being closed. How is the new bridge coming along by the way??
